There's a bug that causes SimplyTweet to load much slower than it should. Right after install, even though the settings claim otherwise, SimplyTweet loads 3 timeslines - Friends, Mentions and Direct Messages, instead of just the Friends timeline.
If you want SimplyTweet to start faster, you can:
- Go to the Settings Application (outside of SimplyTweet), choose SimplyTweet.
- Under "Timelines to Load Automatically", turn ON Mentions and Direct Messages. (Yes, you got that right, turn them ON).
- Start SimplyTweet
- Go to the Settings Application again (outside of SimplyTweet), choose SimplyTweet.
- Under "Timelines to Load Automatically", turn OFF Mentions and Direct Messages.
- Start SimplyTweet again, and it should load only the Friends timeline.
