0.18.0 — August 22, 2026

SimplyDiskSweeper now gives you more information about what a scan could and could not read before you move anything to Trash.

• Scan results separate included items from paths that need access and paths that are unavailable. When macOS allows it, you can grant access to a path and scan again.
• Repository Ignore Rules can show all items, show ignored items only, or hide ignored items.
• You can check the folder on screen for exact duplicate files. SimplyDiskSweeper compares complete file contents and does not select a copy for you.
• Folder totals account for hard-linked files without counting the same allocation twice at their common parent.
• Common Locations provides shortcuts to folders that often use space and adds context for recognized cloud-managed folders.

SimplyDiskSweeper still only scans folders you choose. It does not scan the whole disk, decide what is safe to remove, or promise how much space you will recover.

0.15.0 — July 26, 2026

SimplyDiskSweeper now reports when a scan could not include every item. The completed scan shows counts for included items, items that need access, and unavailable items. When macOS can request access, you can grant it and scan the folder again.

The reported total covers allocated space for accessible items inside the folder you chose. It is not a complete whole-disk or System Data total.

0.14.0 — July 23, 2026

Selected files and folders now move to macOS Trash instead of being removed permanently. SimplyDiskSweeper asks for confirmation first, then reports which items moved and which failed. Items that could not be moved remain selected so you can inspect or retry them.

This release also added optional shortcuts for installed Adobe media caches, the Logic Pro Sound Library, Steam games, and Parallels virtual machines. A shortcut appears only when its folder is present on your Mac.

Completed scans now describe their scope as allocated space for accessible items in the chosen folder. Moving an item to Trash does not guarantee that the same amount will immediately become available.

0.13.0 — July 23, 2026

SimplyDiskSweeper was rebuilt as a current Swift 6 Mac app with sandboxing, hardened runtime, and universal support for Apple silicon and Intel Macs.

For day-to-day use, this release added lower-memory scans backed by an on-disk index, safe handling of symbolic links to folders, multi-selection, per-column filtering, Quick Look while navigating with the arrow keys, and opening files with their default Mac app. It also added shortcuts to common space-consuming locations.

The app follows only symbolic links it can access and protects against recursive links. Its results remain limited to accessible items in the folder you choose.
