MinuteFile has no account, MotionObj backend, meeting bot, live capture, or cloud transcription service. Transcription, saved transcripts, and search run locally.

Data on your Mac
MinuteFile reads the recording folders you select. Its original transcript archive, recording index, preferences, and trial state are stored locally. A licence key is stored in your macOS Keychain. Exported files are copies placed where you choose.
MinuteFile does not upload recordings or transcripts to MotionObj. Removing MinuteFile does not automatically remove your source recordings or exported copies.
Network access
MinuteFile uses network access for these specific operations:
- Downloading optional transcription and speaker models from their model hosts.
- Checking
motionobj.comfor signed MinuteFile updates and downloading them through Sparkle. - Opening Stripe checkout in your browser when you choose to buy a licence.
Once the required models are installed, transcription and transcript search do not call a cloud transcription or language-model API. Model hosts and Stripe process their own network requests under their privacy policies.
Purchases and support
Stripe processes purchases and provides MotionObj with purchase details needed to fulfil and support a licence, including the checkout email address. Stripe's privacy policy applies to checkout.
If you contact support, MotionObj receives the information you include in the message.
Website analytics
The MotionObj website uses Clicky and PostHog to measure visits and interactions with the site, including links such as the MinuteFile download. Session recording is disabled.
Website analytics is separate from the MinuteFile app. MinuteFile does not include Clicky or PostHog.
